White light/white heat...

First, a little catching up.

The mc chris concert was fucking amazing. Nuff said.

Halo at Brett's with the XBoxes linked rocked all kinds of face.

Ok, now that those two things are out of the way, on to the meat and cheese of the entry (it's ok, Laura, even though you're vegetarian, you can still read it).

We had band practice today, and I'll be damned if I wasn't feeling great. To be honest, the whole thing pretty much sucked, what with nothing going right with the attempts to record and Randy getting so frustrated at Facade that he packed up early and whatnot. Also, my voice is a little fucked due to the concert, so my vocals were a little underinspired to say the least (though I started getting the feel for how I actually want to do the vocals, more growling, less singing). But none of that matters, because I had that "Eureka" moment when I realized how to do one of the newer songs and basically changed my entire part vocally. Granted, I didn't quite pull it off the way I wanted as far as actual sound went (I was concentrating too damn much on the pacing and rhythm to pay attention to how it actually sounded, and Randy decided that my mic should be ran through his amp [so that they could hear me better] which meant no distortion, which threw my vocals off even more), but I know how to do it now, so it's all in the good. Granted, I'm not sure Randy was impressed with it, and I think Sean may very well have hated it, but I dont' fucking care, because I like it. So HA!

Then after practice I went to Brett's and we hit up the cigar store (yeah, I decided I actually like the things, though only flavored cigarillos) and went fishing for a bit. Brett gave me a hell of a compliment when he looked over in mid-reel and said "Man, you look like a badass standing there...you actually look like you belong out here" (or something to that effect). Then a couple minutes later, I cast, saw a bug on my hand, went to smack it away and burned myself with the cigar. At which point I screamed like a little girl and blew away the whole "badass" illusion.

So yeah, that's it for now. I'm going to go look for release dates for Sims 2 on XBox. Much love.
